Sara Fleming, MD
Dr. Fleming is a Rockford native who also graduated from at UIC College of Medicine in Rockford before her pathology residency at Northwestern University Chicago. She has been a hospital and lab leader, serving in many different leadership roles over the past 25 years. Currently, Dr. Fleming is Chair of the Pathology Department, Medical Director of the Laboratory, and Medical Director of Cytopathology at UW Health Northern Illinois Swedish American Hospital. She also enjoys teaching medical students as Assistant Clinical Professor at UIC COM-Rockford.
As medical leaders of the lab, Dr. Fleming and her team strive to implement processes and procedures that produce the highest quality of patient care and standards of practice in clinical and anatomic laboratory medicine.
KORRIN MEIER, MD
Dr. Meier was raised near Decatur, Illinois and attended medical school at UIC-College of Medicine in Rockford. She completed her pathology residency at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She has practiced pathology in Rockford since 2009 and is also a Clinical Associate Professor at UIC-College of Medicine Rockford. Dr. Meier is currently the Medical Director of the Belvidere hospital and oversees the blood bank and clinical chemistry at the main hospital.
MATTHEW TWOHIG, MD
Dr. Twohig attended medical school at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and then completed a residency in pathology and fellowship in hematopathology at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI. He currently oversees coagulation testing, point of care testing, and microbiology. Dr. Twohig has practiced pathology in Rockford since 2008 and is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the UIC-College of Medicine in Rockford. He joined Rockford Associated Pathologists in 2019. He enjoys spending time outdoors in his garden.
TAREK JAZAERLY, MD
Dr. Jazaerly is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. He has practiced pathology in Rockford since 2018. He oversees hematology testing in the main laboratory and is also the medical director for the laboratory at the cancer center.
EVA DRINKA, MD
Born and raised in Rockford Illinois, Dr. Drinka completed medical school at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee before going on to residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago Illinois. After residency Dr. Drinka completed fellowships in both general surgical pathology as well as breast pathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. Happy to be back home, Dr. Drinka is proud to be serving the community she grew up in.
